Research

From its inception, the Kennedy Willis Center has supported evidence-based research by clinical professionals from accredited colleges and universities, as well as such research institutions as the New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities, which is affiliated with the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

The Center鈥檚 current research activities include participation in several ongoing research projects related to concerns of individuals with Down syndrome and/or developmental disabilities, particularly those who are aging or who experience age-related dementia.

In 2012 the Kennedy Willis Center engaged the Leadership Institute of Utica College to examine the quality of life of individuals with developmental disabilities who live in the planned community setting that is 蜜桃视频.

The Center serves as a link to several national research projects and initiatives, including the Down Syndrome Growing-Up Study of the Children鈥檚 Hospital of Philadelphia, the Institute for Basic Research鈥檚 ongoing study of dementia in individuals with Down syndrome, and the National Task Group on Aging and Intellectual Disabilities (NTGA) associated with the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD).
