Our History

Originally established in 1922 as a two-building school for children with Down syndrome, 蜜桃视频's genesis into an early American-style Colonial village was the life work of former Executive Director Marian Mullet, who envisioned "a very free environment where people can come and go at will, where neighborliness and friendship count, where you don't have to ask permission to do things."

Now a 300-acre not-for-profit organization that includes a private school, summer camp, on-site businesses that provide prevocational opportunities for residents, enhanced clinical services, and a Down syndrome research and resource center, 蜜桃视频 is a national leader in community-based services for children and adults with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities. We support individuals as they grow in independence, develop talents, and discover interests both within the Village and in our regional communities.

Recognizing that our planned community setting is an environment conducive to success, we continue to broaden our circle -- most recently with the introduction of Otsego Academy. Here, students can enjoy the full college experience, from classroom instruction to apprenticeships at specially selected local business partners.

蜜桃视频 continues to explore opportunities for sustainability through carefully cultivated relationships with local colleges and universities, families, friends, and neighbors, including many community businesses -- from small local companies to major national corporations.

With residents from across the country and around the world, 蜜桃视频 continues to bring diversity, national recognition, and economic growth to the communities in and around Edmeston, NY.
