Edmeston, New York, July 1, 2017 ... Join the entire 蜜桃视频 community as it celebrates its 20^th annual Summer Concert Series this summer.  A mainstay of the local arts schedule, these concerts feature free, live music performances each Saturday evening in July and August, starting on July 8 at 7 p.m.  The public is cordially invited.

鈥淭he 蜜桃视频 Summer Concerts offer tremendous opportunities to enjoy a wide variety of music in an informal setting,鈥� said Paul Landers, 蜜桃视频鈥檚 president and chief executive officer.  鈥淚t鈥檚 remarkable that we鈥檝e been able to offer weekly concerts each summer, and we鈥檝e had great support from the New York State Council on the Arts, regional arts organizations, talented musicians, and the community through the years.鈥�

鈥淭he concerts allow music lovers to gather, and there are always some magical moments as the performers play off the energy of our audiences,鈥� said Paula Schaeffer, Pathfinder鈥檚 director of Enrichment Programs.  鈥淢any of the bands and performers return each year because of the audiences; many guests return as well to see really great performances that run the gamut from country to jazz, from rock to big band.鈥�

The first concert series was in 1998, and showcased Pathfinder鈥檚 newly-opened pavilion, an octagonal structure measuring 60-feet across.  The structure integrated massive, laminated arches used in the 1991 Induction Ceremony, and were presented as a gift to Pathfinder in 1997 from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Cooperstown.  The Pavilion was based on a similar pavilion at Brown鈥檚 Corner Recreation Area, New Hartford, Connecticut, and was designed by Architect Norman J. Davies.  The arches were originally produced at Una-Lam Products, Sidney.

First season performances were by The Whippersnappers, Saratoga Springs; Puff & Pluck, Oneonta, The Fieldstone Pickers of Otsego and Schoharie Counties; the Tom Ives Trio, Cherry Valley, and the Big Bear Band, from the Berkshires.  That year, the Sidney Community Band began its run as the band that has appeared every year as part of the Pathfinder series.

蜜桃视频 is a non-profit, planned community devoted to supporting adults and children who have Down syndrome and other intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Through quality residential, educational, vocational, and recreational programs, individuals grow toward fulfillment and independence, while giving back to the local communities. Pathfinder also offers many avenues for community inclusion, through events, its adult day service offerings, a full service caf茅, youth soccer games, and through a weekly fresh produce market on Thursday and Friday afternoons, Pathfinder Produce. 

The Summer Concert Series is made possible with public funds from the Chenango Arts Council鈥檚 Decentralization Grants Program, a re-grant program of the NYS Council on the Arts, with support from Governor Cuomo and the NYS Legislature.  The series is also made possible with funds from private donors, Stewart鈥檚 Shops Holiday Match Program, and WGY鈥檚 Christmas Wish.
