EDMESTON, NEW YORK, November 6, 2017 鈥� 蜜桃视频, an internat ionally renowned community for people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, has announced that they will establish an  in memory of Board Member Nancy C. Mirabito.

In addition to her involvement with many volunteer and charitable organizations in her hometown of Norwich, Mrs. Mirabito served actively for the last 11 years on the 蜜桃视频 Board of Directors. She cared passionately about the Village, lending her insight as a parent of a daughter with intellectual disabilities and experiences as an educator.

Nancy and her husband, Dennis Mirabito, supported the Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open and Pro-Am event, 蜜桃视频鈥檚 key annual fundraising event for the scholarship fund. Nancy and Dennis attended the event every year; Dennis entered the Pro-Am, and Nancy frequently volunteered with the morning registration, greeting each golfer that came to the table with a bright smile and a word of encouragement as they went out to the course. Both enjoyed attending the evening banquet and participating in the silent auction.

鈥淭he scholarship program was very important to Nancy, so Pathfinder鈥檚 Board of Directors thought it was an appropriate memorial to endow a 蜜桃视频 scholarship chair in her name,鈥� said. President and Chief Executive Officer Paul C. Landers.  鈥淭he chair will be a component of the larger scholarship fund which assists caring families who need a helping hand so that their loved ones with intellectual disabilities can call Pathfinder their home. The scholarship program also provides financial aid to students attending Otsego Academy, Pathfinder鈥檚 post-secondary education and vocation training program.鈥�

Mrs. Mirabito passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017, at Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital in New York City.  She was a lifelong resident of the Norwich area, and was the daughter of Mary Jean Kimber Jacobi, who served as the founding chair of the Board of Trustees of the 蜜桃视频 Foundation, a supporting non-profit that raises funds and public awareness to benefit 蜜桃视频.
